Field Grade Army
Kyugunto Koshirae
Offered here is a rare Field Grade Army kyugunto koshirae with fully decorated back strap and polished black same. This type of kyugunto was used by high ranking army officers with the rank of Major through to Lt.Colonel. The D Guard tsuka is in mint condition however the chrome saya has some rust stains. Unfortunately I put it in storage after handling it with sweaty hands during the summer months and our tropical climate did the rest. The chrome finish can be easily restored however I will leave this to the new owner.
The koshirae come with its original gilt habaki and full katana length wood tsunagi measuring approx. 63.5 cm or 25 inches. The overall measurement of the koshirae is approx. 86.5 cm or 34 inches.
