KOTO KATANA SUKEMUNE 1532 NTHK CERTIFICATE
Koto Katana Tembun Period 1532 Sanshu Province . Shimada School. Sukemune. Nagasa approx 26 ¾’’ or 68 cm Horimono-Omote Single wide groove Ura Double narrow grooves. Nakago suriage with two character Mei- Sukemune. Hamon Gunome. The blade is in old polish with some rust and scratches however even in its current state, it was still awarded a NTHK Certificate at Shinsa. The koshirae is matching handachi style in old Iron with a dragon motif and has a nice old iron sukashi tsuba . The sword is well balanced and has a great feel to it. This style of sword and koshirae is typical of the type that would have been carried daily by the Samurai.
