Welcome to Gunto Art Swords
The site will offer Nihonto and selected Militaria for all grades of collectors, however we will specialize in Antique Blades mounted in Gunto Koshirae.
There are many sites on the web that service the needs and wants of the Nihonto collector although few offer fine Gunto. In fact, many are not remotely interested in Gunto.
Whether the Nihonto collector chooses to agree or not, the Gunto holds it’s place in Japanese sword history. I firmly believe that one day, collectors will treasure fine Gunto Koshirae as they would any Koshirae from a particular period of Nihonto history.
Gone are the days of dealers and collectors discarding Gunto Koshirae. The Gunto Koshirae is now accepted as another part of it’s swords history.
